Flight

Most flyers may land at Incheon International Airport. The Incheon International Airport is about 1 hour away from the centre of Seoul and easily accessed by public transportation such as Airport Railroad, limousine bus, taxi etc. For detailed information about Incheon International Airport, please refer here.

Korean Air and Asiana Airlines are airlines of Korea so they are the most convenient ones to use. Korean Air is a member of Sky Team and provides code share services with Delta Air Lines, Air France, KLM, Aeroflot, Air Europa, Alitalia, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Czech Airlines etc. Asiana Airlines is a member of Star Alliance and shares services with Lufthansa, Air Canada, Scandinavian Airlines, United Airlines, Thai Airways, All Nippon Airways, Austrian Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Adria Airways, Croatia Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, TAP Portugal, Air China, Brussels Airlines, Aegean Airlines etc.

Flyers from Japan, China and Taiwan may touch down at Gimpo International Airport. From Airport to Seoul

Airport Railroad is the fastest and cheapest manner to reach the centre of Seoul from airports. Regular trains take 56 minutes while express trains take 43 minutes. For detailed information, please refer Airport Railroad website below.

Limousine Bus

Limousine Bus has 18 routes and is very convenient manner to transfer into various places in Seoul. Limousine buses reach major hotels and tourist attractions. For details, please refer Limousine bus route information below.

International Taxi

Speakers of English, Chinese or Japanese drive International Taxi. It is operated by city government of Seoul and adopted flat fare for each zone so it is very reliable and straight forward in fare. Reservation can be done by phone, email or on-line and on-spot reservation in airport also is possible. For details, please refer International Taxi website below.

Taxi
Taxi is another option to transfer between Incheon International Airport and the centre of Seoul. There are 3 types of taxi: regular taxi (silver and orange); deluxe taxi (black); and large taxi (black). Regular taxi has minimum fare of KRW 2,400 and KRW 100 is added per 144m (20% extra charge after midnight). Deluxe and Large taxis have minimum fare of KRW 4,500 and KRW 200 is added per 164m.

Taking subway at Gimpo International Airport Station in line no. 5 would be the cheapest transportation from Gimpo International Airport to Seoul (There is no subway service in Incheon International Airport)

Subway
Subway is the most convenient transportation in Seoul. To use subway, you need to purchase a transportation card. The card is available at all subway stations. For details, please refer the website below.
Bus

There are 5 types of buses in Seoul.

  • · Blue Line: Connecting inner city area and other areas in Seoul or suburban areas.
  • · Green Line: Transferring between blue line buses and subway stations. Running short distance.
  • · Yellow Line: Connecting inner city area and other areas in Seoul. Running mostly for business and shopping area.
  • · Red Line: Mostly running inner city area.
  • · Shuttle Bus: Auxiliary service for green line. Running bus stops near subway stations.

Visa and Passport

In order to enter Korea, you should have passport and visa. Travel visa would be good enough for the conference participation. Some visitors may travel without visa for a certain length of time, depending upon their nationality. For visitors to work or teach in Korea, then visa is required.
